Andrea Capotosto was recently awarded Brown Engineering's Spirit of Excellence Award. Capotosto, financial analyst for the School of Engineering, was presented with the award by Dean Larry Larson at the engineering annual summer cookout.
The Spirit of Excellence Award was created in 2015 to be given annually to an employee who brings new and innovative ways to doing their work, and embraces the vision of the School of Engineering through his or her accomplishments during the previous academic year.
Capotosto's day-to-day duties include advanced financial monitoring, forecasting, projections and analytical reporting for engineering. Her regular work has brought improvements and better information for financial managers and has improved the work of the School in its current financial landscape. In her work on a new financial model, she has brought clarity to better inform decision making, set financial priorities and engage in longer term financial planning.
"Andrea has shown a great aptitude for investigating and understanding a many-faceted financial scenario, set within an even more complex university landscape," said Dean Larry Larson. "She has led us through weekly meetings to refine and revise multiple financial models, enabling the planning team to have sufficient data for a well-informed model with the most comprehensive and accurate calculations for the School of Engineering."
