We asked Brown engineers to tell us about their 2026 summer internships and research projects. Summer experiences offer students a powerful engine for career growth – building critical technical skills, expanding professional networks, and connecting classroom theory directly to real-world application. This summer, Brown engineers worked on the front lines of innovation across the globe: launching rockets with SpaceX, researching spaceflight textiles at NASA, testing snow groomers in Italy, and developing subsea robotics, clean energy grids, and premium consumer audio in Japan. From Fortune 500 giants like Kraft Heinz and Sanofi to deep-tech startups in Stockholm and medical labs at Mayo Clinic, our students proved that an engineering education opens doors everywhere.
