LIDH – Update | July 2026
The Lassonde Innovation and Design Hub (LIDH) project has expanded construction activities from the ground floor to the second and third floors this summer.
Over the past six months, the project team has completed the build-out of several temporary and permanent relocation spaces for current Prince Lab users, creating the conditions necessary for major construction activities which began in early June. Most recently, the team carefully relocated more than 220 pieces of technical equipment and associated material stock, including wood and metal fabrication machinery, drills, routers, lathes, welding equipment, 3D printers, and a wide range of specialized tools. This significant undertaking has been completed on schedule, with the Joint Engineering and Physics Instrument Shop now settling into its temporary home for the next 18 months.
Interior demolition is well underway, and that will be followed by exterior utility work and selective façade removal to accommodate the installation of new glazing later this fall. After two years of planning, coordination, and preparation, the project is now transitioning from planning to execution.
