Engineering alumnus Taub elected to National Academy of Engineering

Marc Taub Marc Taub ’98 has been elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) class of 2025, one of the highest professional distinctions awarded to an engineer. He was cited “for leadership in bioengineering design and the development of transformational wearable devices and systems for in vivo electrochemical biosensing.”

Taub is the Divisional Vice President of Technical Operations for Abbott’s Diabetes Care business. Based in Alameda, Calif., he leads the Global Research and Development, Medical, Scientific and Clinical Affairs organizations. Since joining Abbott in 2004, Taub has been dedicated to developing innovative products that help people with diabetes live healthier lives. He was one of the driving forces behind the development and innovation of the FreeStyle Libre system, a sensor-based glucose monitoring solution. He is also leading the development of a first-of-its-kind dual monitoring system designed to enable people with diabetes to continuously monitor glucose and ketone levels from one sensor.
