PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — Solomon Israel Goldstein-Rose '16 has been awarded a Udall Scholarship. An engineering and public policy concentrator from Amherst, Mass., Goldstein-Rose is interested in the way American education systems can be improved. He hopes to use the award to advance clean energy initiatives and solve some of global warming's most demanding questions.
"The Office of the Dean of the College is thrilled to see Solomon recognized by this prestigious nationally competitive award," said Linda Dunleavy, associate dean of the College. "This honor represents his excellence and commitment to energy research and the environment."
The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to sophomore and junior students for their leadership, public service, and commitment to American Indian nations or to the environment. The Udall Foundation gives up to $5,000 for academic expenses and gives students the opportunity to meet with like-minded scholars for a four-day conference in Tucson, Ariz.
